To My Providence Family

It is with great appreciation for Mizael’s friendship and leadership as Director of La Providencia over the past few years, excitement for Mizael’s new role with La Providencia, and great anticipation of what God has in store for La Providencia under Douglas’s leadership that I share with you these words from Mizael Flores. ~ Phil Darke, President, Providence World

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I write to you with gratitude, and I praise God for allowing us to celebrate the first ten years of the wonderful ministry of La Providencia. A ministry that is so dear to me and in which God has allowed me to serve as volunteer since 2002, then as Technical Director from 2004-2010, and at last, as National Director from 2010-2014.

In this past year, however, I have sensed God leading me in a different direction. My desire has always been to advocate for a strong increase in the involvement of the Honduran people, but feel that with the day-to-day administrative responsibilities I have not been able to maximize opportunities as much as I would have liked. And so, I am convinced it is in the best interest of La Providencia to move out of the role of National Director and re-direct my efforts with more focus to promote the precious ministry of La Providenica in a volunteer capacity.

Therefore, I have recommended the Providence Board and President to call my brother in Christ, Douglas Barahona, to be my successor. It is without a doubt that God has been preparing Douglas for this day and there is no one more suitable to lead La Providencia in this new season. With confidence and anticipation I look forward to see how our faithful God will use our brother Douglas as National Director of La Providencia and ask that you will continually lift him up in prayer and surround him with your support.

I look forward to serve La Providencia as a member of the Board of Directors, and together with my family support La Providencia as volunteers in a variety of activities and projects. I will also continue to assist the areas of construction and spiritual formation in the ministry.

I thank you with all my heart for the support along these years and I look forward to continuing our work together to complete our vision for the glory of our Lord and Savior.

Your brother in Christ,

J. Mizael Flores A.
