La Providencia is a best practice, family-based community of care for orphans and at-risk children in Honduras
Through our incubator model, La Providencia, a best practice, family-based community of care for orphans and at-risk children in Honduras, we are able to do a few things:
- Provide opportunities for amazing Honduran orphans and at-risk children to be raised up as leaders in their communities
- Conduct hands-on research on what constitutes best-practice orphan care and gain value experiential knowledge of what the actual gap is between theory and practice
- Give other passionate orphan care providers a model to use
We are conducting extensive research and building La Providencia with excellence so that we can share information, educate, train, and collaborate with other orphan care providers. The model framework developed through our research and experience can then be replicated, in whole or in part, and used to raise the standard of care for orphans and at-risk communities all around the world.
And it is through this multiplication of the model framework, as millions of orphans around the world are raised up as societal leaders, that the paradigm surrounding orphans can begin to change to one where the orphans and at-risk children are seen as investments, rather than as a waste of resources, as they unfortunately are currently seen by a majority of the world.
