Pursuing Excellence for Orphans of War

A few weeks ago, we received an urgent call from Victor Marx, who leads All Things Possible Ministries, a non-profit that identifies, interrupts, and restores those affected by trauma.  Victor asked Providence World to help develop a strategy of orphan excellence for orphaned children his team has encountered through their work in the war-torn Middle East.  He shared a story of an Iraqi girl found hiding under her deceased mother’s hijab, who was ruthlessly gunned down by ISIS while trying to flee to freedom.  For three days, this little girl survived under the safety of that hijab, only to venture away from her mother’s side long enough to seek leftover water bottles among the deceased.

The orphan crisis is as urgent as ever and so is our need for your partnership.

Orphaned Girl Rescued by ATP Ministries, Mosul, Iraq

Our reputation for excellence and collaboration is well-established and we need to continue building on this foundation in order to best inspire and equip others to live out God’s mandate to look after orphans and widows in their distress (James 1:27). For years, you have rallied behind the children in Honduras and helped La Providencia become a well-respected model of orphan excellence. And now, it is clear our work is not only significant to the children in Honduras, but also to the millions of other orphaned and at-risk children around the world – children just like the little Iraqi girl.

Will you give today?

With your generous financial gift, you will help us to significantly expand our ability to help others care for orphaned children with excellence, increase Think Orphan Podcast‘s reach, launch our follow-on book project to encourage deeper worldwide collaboration, and continue building out our orphan care community at La Providencia.

On behalf of the entire Providence World team, thank you so much for your continued partnership – we can not do this without you!
